Non-clinical pathway

Certified Reading Wellbeing Practitioner

For people who use reading as a tool for reflection, connection, confidence, and personal growth — in libraries, classrooms, workplaces, coaching practices, and community settings.

Who this is for

The non-clinical pathway is designed for librarians, teachers, social workers, coaches, facilitators, writers, and community professionals who want a structured, generous way to bring reading into their work — without stepping into clinical territory.

What you'll learn

  • How to choose passages, poems, and short texts for reflective discussion
  • Facilitating honest, generous group conversation around literature
  • Designing reading wellbeing programmes for schools, libraries, and workplaces
  • Using journaling and integration prompts alongside reading
  • Working within scope: when to refer on, and how to hold safe boundaries

Scope of practice

Certified Reading Wellbeing Practitioners™ are trained to use The Book Therapy Method™ as a non-clinical approach to reading, reflection, wellbeing, and personal growth. They do not provide mental health treatment through this certification unless they are separately qualified, registered, and insured to do so.
